Mold Damage – Santa Monica Home

Mold damage at this Santa Monica home developed when a leaky pipe inside the wall deposited moisture onto the drywall. The condition lasted for quite a while as a large piece of furniture obscured this portion of drywall from view. Only when a musty odor was noticed by the residents did they suspect a problem. SERVPRO was called in to mitigate the mold. We needed to tear out a portion of the drywall and the floor molding as well as a small portion of the floor. At that point, we discovered mold on the studs. We sanded the studs to remove the mold and treated them with an antimicrobial substance to inhibit future mold growth.
