Mold damage – Santa Monica Home

Mold damage at this Santa Monica home developed in the laundry room as seen in the before photo. A small leak in a water hose delivered the moisture to the dark area behind the washing machine. The drywall absorbed the majority of the moisture for some time before it became saturated and water began to get to the floor. When SERVPRO of Santa Monica / Venice Beach technicians encounter mold damage such as this, they would first set up a containment area so mold spores would not be dispersed throughout the house while we were cleaning up the mold growth. Then they would remove the damaged drywall and dispose of it properly. Next, they would dry sponge the area. They would finish up the mold remediation by applying an antimicrobial substance to the entire are and within the walls to inhibit future mold growth.
